How pressure converter works
Pressure is force per unit area, and many units exist for it across science, engineering, and meteorology: pascals (the SI unit), bars, atmospheres, pounds per square inch (psi), millimetres of mercury (mmHg, used in blood pressure), and inches of water. Each relates to the others by a fixed factor.
This converter expresses every unit in pascals first, then converts to the target unit. The conversions use standard exact factors (1 atm = 101325 Pa, 1 psi โ 6894.76 Pa, and so on).
